This was my first assignment in my Photography class. The goal was to take a picture of a repetitive line or shape, but to include artistic merit, such as a focal point (the stool).
I took this picture with a Minolta SRT200 SLR 45 mm lens. I used 125 Black and White film (obviously) and developed the picture on my own.
In order to satisfy the requirement for my first assignment, I knew immediately that I wanted my film not to follow a reoccurring them (sort of ironic considering the assignment) so I took pictures of books in a book case, candy hearts, a cool architectural design, and tarot cards. However, when I looked at my film, the 4 images I took of the books was without a doubt my best pictures. I chose this one because it was the only one with the stool and it had the best focus.
Overall, I am proud of this picture just because I learned as this picture progressed into what you see.
